Position Summary
GPMPS, Inc. is seeking experienced Auto Diesel Mechanics to perform inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring vehicles are maintained in a safe, reliable, and mission-ready condition while adhering to established maintenance standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance services and scheduled inspections on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, steering, suspension, and braking system malfunctions.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to determine serviceability and maintenance requirements.
- Remove, repair, replace, and adjust components including engines, transmissions, drive trains, differentials, fuel systems, and cooling systems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and technical manuals to troubleshoot faults and identify corrective actions.
- Perform vehicle servicing including lubrication, fluid replacement, filter changes, and system adjustments.
- Complete maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance procedures, technical specifications, and safety standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Support equipment readiness by completing maintenance actions efficiently and accurately.
Minimum Qualifications
- Technical or vocational training in Diesel Technology, Automotive Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum three years of experience maintaining and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and fuel systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience maintaining medium and heavy-duty trucks, buses, construction equipment, or material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, International, Mack, Volvo, Freightliner, Hino, Isuzu, or similar equipment.
- Experience using computerized diagnostic systems and maintenance management software.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and vehicle inspection requirements.
