Position Summary

GPMPS, Inc. is seeking a skilled Machinist to manufacture, repair, modify, and restore precision metal parts, components, and assemblies used in support of maintenance and operational requirements. The successful candidate will operate machine tools, interpret technical drawings, and produce high-quality parts that meet required specifications and tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional machine tools including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and related equipment.
• Manufacture replacement parts, components, shafts, bushings, fittings, brackets, and other precision-machined items.
• Repair and restore worn or damaged mechanical components to required specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, sketches, and engineering specifications.
• Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
• Select appropriate materials, cutting tools, and machining methods for assigned work.
• Maintain dimensional tolerances and quality standards throughout the machining process.
• Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on machine shop equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work and material usage.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and machine shop best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• Technical or vocational training in Machining Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience operating conventional machine shop equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection tools.
• Knowledge of machining principles, cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and materials.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating both manual and CNC machine tools.
• Experience manufacturing and repairing mechanical components for industrial, transportation, or maintenance operations.
• Welding, fabrication, or metalworking experience.
• Knowledge of machine shop safety practices and quality control procedures.
• Familiarity with CAD drawings and computerized manufacturing processes.
