Job description
Overall Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join TRiBECA® Knowledge, a London (UK) based company delivering software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions to the pharmaceutical industry across Europe and the US.

In this role, you will own the configuration, deployment, and release management of our cloud-based SaaS platforms hosted on AWS. You will design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, manage infrastructure and application servers, oversee release controls, and analyse system performance, ensuring our products are delivered reliably, securely, and at pace. You will work closely with Software Developers, QA Engineers, and the Product team to keep our delivery lifecycle running smoothly.

The position is based with our partner DevTeam in Bucharest.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Software Configuration Management (25%)
  • Own and maintain software configuration management processes across all environments (development, staging, production).
  • Define and enforce branching strategies, versioning standards, and environment promotion policies.
  • Manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to ensure environments are reproducible, consistent, and auditable.
  • Establish and maintain procedures related to the deployment of information systems, ensuring compliance with quality and security standards.
CI/CD & Build Automation (30%)
  • Design, build, and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Automate build, test, and deployment processes to minimise manual intervention and reduce time-to-release.
  • Manage and optimise the development infrastructure, including AWS services, application servers, and containerised workloads (Docker, ECS, or EKS).
  • Collaborate with developers to integrate automated testing and security scanning into the delivery pipeline.
Release Management & Controls (25%)
  • Lead release planning, scheduling, and execution in line with Agile sprint cycles and product roadmap milestones.
  • Maintain release controls and change management procedures, ensuring changes are tracked, approved, and communicated.
  • Coordinate with the QA team to confirm readiness for each release gate, managing risk and rollback strategies where needed.
  • Produce clear deployment documentation for internal and stakeholder audiences.
Performance Analysis & Monitoring (15%)
  • Monitor and analyse application performance across the AWS environment using tools such as CloudWatch, or equivalent.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and work with the development team to implement improvements.
  • Define and maintain alerting thresholds, on-call runbooks, and incident response procedures.
  • Produce regular performance and availability reports for the technical leadership team.
Information Security & Quality (5%)
  • Apply security-by-design and privacy-by-design principles across all infrastructure and deployment activities.
  • Contribute to quality and compliance practices aligned with ISO 27001, including audit trails and access controls on deployment pipelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or in an equivalent field.
  • Minimum 4 years of IT professional experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in deployment procedures.
  • Excellent knowledge of software deployment management and release management practices.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g. EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, CodePipeline, or equivalent).
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Knowledge of build and deployment tools (e.g. Ant, Maven, Gradle, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of application servers and containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of RDBMS and database administration fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in IT quality procedures and change management processes.
  • Capability to work in an international/multi-cultural environment.
  • Excellent communicator, able to participate in multi-lingual meetings and produce clear written documentation.
  • Good written and spoken English.

Optional specific expertise:

  • Minimum a total of 3 years’ experience with one or more of the following: deployment procedures, change management, or deployment tools.
  • AWS certifications (e.g. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are considered a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Standard Benefits
  • Competitive salary package
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Collaborative, international working environment.
